Ken brought in his Tacoma for a simple upgrade that didn't interfere with the interior space.

First up was to run the power wire. Black loom was used to integrate the power wire to give a more OEM appearance.

The RCAs were labeled at both ends so if something had to be serviced it would be a straight forward process to put it back together.

Each crossover network was terminated and heat shrunk. Instead of removing the door panels the networks were also mounted inside the car for ease of access for fine tuning.

Speaker connections.

The doors received a layer of Hush Mat Ultra sound deadening on the outside skin and inside skin. To top off the sound deadening a layer of Megabond sound absorbing foam was applied.

Using stock mounting locations ABS plastic and plexiglass was used to make mounting plates for the Focal Ployglass 165 V30 tweeter and woofer.

For sub frequencies a Digital Designs SW6.5 6.5" subwoofer was used. The enclosure was designed to fit within the same size of the center console and be completely removable. A grille was made to protect the speaker and to keep from prying eyes. (On a side note the performance of this 6.5 subwoofer is something to be experienced. For it's small size it has a lot of bass output and clean output as well).

A Gladen M-Line 75.4 and 600.1 were utilized for amplification. The 75.4 is mounted under the driver's seat and the 600.1 is mounted under the passenger's seat. All the wires were labeled.

As you can see this was a simple install but it packs a lot of performance. Ken's long trips to and from work are now an enjoyable experience and that's what he was looking for.
