BMW 750iL Focal and Mosconi

On the heals of finishing his brother's s550 (http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/build-logs-project-install-gallery/119771-mercedes-benz-s550-rainbow-audio-german-excellence.html) Rajah brought in his newly purchased BMW 750iL. He wanted the same system as the s550 but
I said let's do something different. The equipment of choice was Focal and Mosconi.

First thing up was to get a switched 12v. Of all the cars I could not find
a switched 12v supply anywhere so I used a switched 12v generator. Give it
constant and ground and you have switched 12v.

Enclosure wiring. I like to do as much wiring outside of the car as possible
and make things modular in case something needs to be removed. This also
gives you a good look at the Mosconi Gladen One 240.2 and Focal Performance
SUB P30 DB.

Power taped for the LED lighting inside the enclosure.

Since the Mosconi Gladen One line excepts high level in through the RCAs
the OEM amplifier was taped and the wire were terminated with RCA ends.

Main power and relay (arrow) that had to be wiried up because the trunk
light switches ground and not 12v.

While the trunk was apart I removed the ski pass through and added some
grille cloth to allow the subwoofers to fire into the cabin.

With everything wired up the enclosure could be installed. It was designed
to be a tight fit between the 2 raised sections in the trunk and it was
mounted with aluminum "L" brackets.

An Alcantara trim panel was made to trim out the amplifier and subwoofers.
Rings were made and painted silver to give more contrast to the panel as
well as tie in the silver accents from the Mosconi logo.
